Words on an occasion like this, take it as entry point for reflection on behalf of my colleagues and myself I want to share with you, to evoke the time travel, and in it, the shared experiences of this group of young people with whom an institution as the Central Technical Institute , School of Technology, took a significant step from the perspective of gender inclusion in education, experience of which we are pioneering. A meaningful experience for the challenges that daily demand at all levels and that has undoubtedly made a significant mark on us as people and students, in our families as part of the educational community, our teachers, principals, administrators. Similarly, an experience that has touched the institution as such, its policies, long-standing tradition.
Finally, an experience that called for renewal, and whose firm commitment to meet the challenges of modern times through its human capital: Its students, men and women. So today
December 11, 2009, we thank God for allowing us to bring to fruition this stage of our formation, a prelude to the activities we will undertake for the sake of conquest not only of our dreams and ideals also the challenges imposed on us Colombian society to respond as citizens in the achievement of a more friendly and equitable.
Today it is necessary if we want to recall in detail that, six years ago, an institution that had been educating and training a hundred men with the highest level decided to take a challenge, with all the obstacles and risks that accompany this process. The change was to open its doors to the female population and has since been included in prestigious educational community as a group of 40 girls who had the courage to confront a tradition and decided to be part of the history of the Central Technical, showing from the first day that the change had been positive and that the name of the organization also would aloft by the women who entered to form the Lasallian family.
But the arrival was only the first part of this long but productive way. Face against a completely unknown world, strengthened us, demonstrate our capabilities and what we were, we made every day better, put aside prejudices and full of determination to make and enjoy all the challenges that brought us each new dawn, as workshops, teachers, different sports, the rows in the cafeteria, and most shocking of all, attitudes, behaviors and reactions of our colleagues in front of the first generation of girls never ITC ...
we forget the restrictions and our care coordinators, teachers and even our own colleagues, not because of the relationship between men and women, but because his presence was something new and different. And so, as the institution has always made the country great people and gentlemen, that image has grown in its female population.
As you can perceive all of you, at this time when we get ready to face real life, we go back in time through the words trying to frame, these pleasant and difficult moments, those sleepless nights and sad faces, we remember the comrades who stayed on the road, but also enjoy the satisfaction of passing our materials, we bring to mind the friends collected, how it is fed relive the day to day living among all ... And if we look at our side, front or back, we will meet the faces that have supported us over these 6 years we'll see people who know us even a little, and I would bet that for each one, you have a moment together, a laugh, a displeasure, or mischief.
Right now our mind feels bombarded by all the stories built together all images of that world framed by our specialties, despite the difference strengthened our union ... shall be grounds to say that no matter what we have never exchanged a word within the walls of the school, we go with the certainty that if our paths ever see a familiar face from high school, we will be filled with joy and again we have the incredible pleasure to remember.
What humans are contradictory! This afternoon they both dreamed for so long and now comes true, our sense is covered by the nostalgia that makes us complete a stage in our lives that will never return, leaving behind as they promise to be friends forever. Before us are hidden worlds and paths unknown, as well as situations that require at the time, we make decisions about our own lives, but we're prepared for whatever we have traveled and learned is what will guide our actions. I hope
interpret the feelings of all of us in this promotion, when I say never enough words to thank the legacy that the entire school community has made us the lessons and opportunities, but above all the love and dedication with which accompanied us. Included here of course, deep gratitude to our parents and our families, rather than giving us the privilege of education, accompanied us advised and today celebrate this victory with us.
And You Class of 2009 classmates: I invite you to reflect on the challenge before us is: Being the image of this, our educational institution, always leave your name on high. demonstrating and remembering who we are constantly striving to improve the environment in which we develop and never apart from exhaustive search of excellence in our future universities, jobs, families and whether, in our own lives. We must be leaders in each of the projects we choose to be tomorrow, because we are men and women agents of change and progress, and as worthy Bachelors Industrial Technical demonstrate that Colombia is a country with unparalleled wealth just waiting to be explored and a myriad of opportunities just waiting to be taken, because the opportunities are never lost or are small, small is the heart that takes them and let them pass into the hands of another.
Girls, thanks for everything we have achieved together, for all that we shared. Children, a thousand thanks for welcoming us and allowing us to show what we are and how we can contribute to the joint construction of a better world.
